The common grounds of the Association offer 7 miles of pathways that wind their way through the community where residents and their guests enjoy jogging, walking, and bicycling in the abundant Florida sunshine. For those who enjoy a more rigorous outdoor workout, certain pathways in the village of Bridgewood offer an opportunity to hone rollerblading skills.
The boardwalk in the Nature Preserve beckons residents and children back to the peacefulness of nature and offers a cool 6 acre area to explore a maintained forest of old pines, mature oaks and cypress. Ferns and other native plants provide a natural habitat for frogs, raccoons, rabbits and salamanders. This natural sanctuary is also home to owls, Egrets, hawks, Bluejays, one endangered species - the Whooping Crane, along with the state bird of Florida – the Mockingbird, which can be heard mimicking the sounds of insects and songs of other birds in rapid succession.
The ‘Tot Lot’ and adjacent basketball court provide a recreation area for children of all ages. Brightly colored playground structures inside a fenced area offer little ones a chance to exert some energy and learn new skills - climbing, sliding, soaring on the swings and playing on the monkey bars. The basketball court provides a place to “shoot hoops” for leisure or a little competitive sport. Spectators can escape the sun and watch all the action from a covered area, and restrooms are conveniently located.
